Alt Text: These are used in images. Search Engine cannot read images so Alt Text are provided so that search engine while crawling, can easily understand what this image is about. You should use your keyword in Alt Txt.


Anchor Text: It is used to link a second page. You can also do this in the image.


Backlink: This is a link made to your site from another site.


Black Hat SEO: This technique is used to rank your site in search engines quickly. But it is not safe and you run the risk of being penalised


Crawler / Spider / Bot / Google Bot: Search Engine sends its bots to sites. Through which it could read the contents of your site. This is an automatic process.


Keyword: It is a phrase or sentence, which people search in the search engine. There are two types of Keyword; Short Tail and Long Tail. The keywords that remain with words up to 1-3 are called Short Tail and those with more keywords are called Long Tail.


Meta Data: The search engine does this to make the search results appear properly.



Meta Title: This is the title of your article or website which describes your content.



Meta Description: It is used in search result to describe the content.



No-Follow: This is an attribute used in anchor text. This makes the search engine understand that you are not following that link. It is used in external link.



On-Page SEO: The technique you use in your site to make your website or blog post SEO friendly, it is called On Page SEO. In this, you have to optimize texts, tags, images, URL structure, internal links, headers.



Off-Page SEO: The technique used to improve the ranking position of your website in Search Engine is called Off Page SEO.



Robot.txt File: This file is a search engine communicating with robots and tells them which site to index and which page to index and which page does not.



Pagerank (PR): Google gives every website and page a rank from 0 to 10 by looking at the quality of their site and SEO score. As much as his page ranks well in Google. No more PR updates are coming from last year.



SEO: Search Engine Optimization. This is a process to improve the search engine score of your website. Good SEO decides which page of your search results to show.



Sitemap: Sitemap contains details of all the contents of your blog or website. Submitting this to the search engine allows them to read all your pages well.



White Hat SEO: This is a good quality SEO technique. Which takes time to rank your page, but you are completely safe from penalty.
